About Me

My name is Abbey Whaley, founder and trainer for Abbey’s Canine Academy (ACA dog training) I live in Wellsburg, WV with my supportive husband and my two wonderful dogs.  I teach dog owners how to utilize techniques that will grow their relationship with their dog, and allow them to lead and guide their dog into making good decisions.  I give you, as the owner, all the information and techniques that you’ll need to have a balanced relationship with your four legged family members.  To make sure that communication is strong and clear between you and your dog, I use tools such as body language, positive reinforcement, slip leads, and Herm Sprenger collars,  which are specifically designed for dogs to have healthy boundaries in their lives.  With the help of these tools, we can ensure, together, that your dog clearly understands “yes” when they are doing something great, and “no” when they are directly defying a command they already understand. This eliminates the frustrating confusion that can occur without clear communication.  I believe that together we can teach your puppy or dog manners and set them up to experience more of the world around them.

About Our Facility

Our Board and Train facility is set up in a way that the dogs can have a safe and comfortable area to roam in when they are on break from training.  We have a separated area for the dogs to stay in, as well as a crate for each dog to stay in during any unsupervised time.  We utilize strong crates that make sure that we can take the best care of your pups.  We also have large farmland that we go on hikes, runs, and adventures with your dog.  Our goal is to make sure that we treat your dog as if they are our own, all while making sure that they are getting straight A's in their classes!
